Learn about the geisha in Japan—their history and culture from the 18th century through to contemporary times. Drawing on writing, images, media and personal accounts, we will explore varying representations of geisha as artists and entertainers within the contexts of gender, politics and society. Followed by a live performance of the Nikka Yuko Minyo dancers.
