The Results of the 2021 Celebrate Downtown Awards

The City of Lethbridge’s Celebrate Downtown Awards took place last Friday, outdoors, at the Sandman Signature. This was a night where we celebrated and honoured the hard work, perseverance, adaptability and excellence of the Downtown community.  While the awards have been around since 2016, this was the first year of it being delivered by the Downtown Lethbridge BRZ. It was an amazing night with fantastic people, and we congratulate all of the Celebrate Downtown 2021 nominees and winners. 


Below is a breakdown of this year’s awards and their recipients: 


The People’s Choice Award: Nominated by the community, with the ultimate winner chosen based on who received the most votes at the event. The fan favourite! Award recipient: Chef Stella Lethbridge

The Heritage Award: Awarded to a business, organization, or person who has made contributions to preserving the history of downtown. Including work of individuals and preservation of buildings.  Award recipient: Post YQL, a Sumus project

The Social Media Award: Awarded to a business, organization or individual that has created a strong social media presence. Focusing on the authenticity, creativity and connection fostered with their social community. Award recipient: Bread Milk and Honey

Adapting to Covid Award: Awarded to a business, organization or individual that has adapted or pivoted in an exceptional, creative or innovative way during COVID-19. Award recipient: Gentleman Three

Community Contribution Award: Awarded to a business, organization or person who has contributed to downtown in many ways. Such as through donation, volunteering, participation in community events or working to better the downtown community. The ultimate community member! Award recipient: Sage Clan 

Downtown Event of the Year Award: Awarded to a downtown event that has put on an exciting, exceptional and entertaining event that has occurred in downtown Lethbridge over the last year. Award recipient: Wide Skies Re- Imagined 

Downtown Best New Business of the Year Award: Awarded to a business or organization in downtown that has opened in the last year that has shown perseverance, success, adaptability, innovation and more, nominated by peers. Award recipient: Analog Books

Downtown Business of the Year Award: Awarded to a business or organization in downtown that has exemplified success, adaptability, excellence, great customer service and more, nominated by peers. Award recipient: The Sill and Soil
